First, here's a brief background of the handset. As the name of the mobile phone unit implies, the N93i is simply a redesign or an improvement over its predecessor Nokia N93. These two smartphones both are part of Nokia's Nseries, a complete line of high-end smartphones which are suitable for both personal and business phone users. The i-version was released on the first quarter of 2007.

Improvements made in Nokia N93i
For those who already own the Nokia N93 mobile phone unit, what exactly are these improvements for the N93i version?
First of all, the N93i has a much slimmer design and more visually appealing as compared to Nokia N93. Instead of D-pad, this device sports a side joystick which is significantly less fiddly for users. Other improvements include a more secure cover for the miniSD card slot, a redesigned battery cover that's much easier to operate, the speaker was relocated to the base unit and a charging LED was placed just under the top of the mirror. However, there are a few compromises made in Nokia N93i design indeed, but these will not annoy you as they do no harm to the overall operation and user experience at all.
A Closer Look at the Nokia N93i Features
Now that you already have an idea about the improvements made in the N93i, let us take a closer look at it.
Starting with the camera, Nokia N93i sports a 3.2 MP, autofocus, LED flash, digital snapper which has Carl Zeiss optics, 3x optical and 20x digital zoom, as well as video stabilization. These features will allow you to take great pictures and thus make the N93i as good as many entry-level digital cameras. It is definitely more than enough to take your occasional videos and mobile phone pictures with.
As far as its video capabilities are concerned, the manufacturers tout that the Nokia N93i has the ability to create VGA (640X480) videos at 30fps. This is made possible with the help of MPEG4 technology, which can later on be shared on the phone's 2.4" display. Although there are some little upgrades in Nokia N93i, the main features of video recording remain almost the same.
Design-wise, what makes the Nokia N93i as standout is the fact that the fliptop phone can be turned into a handy camcorder with its "Transformer-style" folding.
Yet another plus to its already power-packed features list is the fact that the Nokia N93i has excellent web browsing capabilities. Perhaps the only downside to owning this gadget is the fact that it has a weak flash - but all the other features that you will get to enjoy with this handset more than makes up for that minor flaw.
