The Nintendo Wii took the world by storm as the first primarily motion active video game console. With a sensor bar and ergonomically designed remote control and knun chuck, the Nintendo Wii allows players to mimic many physical activities, from rolling a bowling ball to swinging a sword. Though there are more traditional style games for the Nintedo Wii, its mass appeal comes from its interactive nature.
Child obesity is a wide spread problem across American. More and more children every year opt to stay inside to play video games rather than to go outside and engage in healthy outdoor activities. Luckily for parents around the world struggling to get their kids off of their duffs, Nintendo took the problem into their own hands. The outcome was the Nintendo Wii, a console that promotes the use of physical activity when playing its games. The console was met with much excitement, so much excitement in fact that it was near impossible to get your hands on one for quite some time.
At the release of the Nintendo Wii, you almost couldn't find a console anywhere. The demand for the console was so high that they were selling for well over $1,000 on popular auction sites like eBay. Anyone who had the console was the talk of the neighborhood and everyone's favorite house to go to for a gaming fix.
If helping to combat the child obesity rate wasn't enough, Nintendo Wii soon came out with Wii Fit, a game designed to real adults into the world of gaming addiction. Wii Fit is a fitness program designed exclusively for the Wii. It comes with a pressure sensitive balance board that serves a number of functions, from being used as a scale to testing out someone's balance and posture. With the invention of the Wii Fit, Nintendo reeled in even more sales and made the Nintendo Wii the most sought after gaming console.
If you'd like to get in a little exercise with your gaming, then the Wii Fit is the most recommended console on the market. Not only does its controls allow you to get an upper body workout, but you can also purchase the Wii Fit balance board or a dance pad and get a lower body work out as well. The Nintendo Wii has forever revolutionized the way that video game consoles will be designed from here on out. Once again, Nintendo is a pioneer of the gaming kind.
