Right inside your console you will find some components that are connected together by solder. These components are known as heat sinks. The function of these heat sinks is to ensure that there is no heat left inside the console. Excess heat tends to affect the motherboard and make the console fail. These heat sinks can also be found in other electronic devices like your TV set, your refrigerator and your computers.
Before you perform the troubleshooting of the three red lights error; you have to check and see if the solder is being melted by heat. Because that would definitely affect the CPU connected to the heat sinks.
Ensure that you have all the connections to your Xbox 360 unplugged for at least one hour to enable them cool down. After an hour, you should plug everything back again
After the re-connection; put on your console and see if the red ring of death is still on display. If it is, then you will have to get things fixed up by either sending the console to Microsoft service center or you be prepared to do it yourself.
Sending your device to Microsoft service center will ensure that you fix your console without any hassles or stress. It would however cost you a huge amount of money, if your warranty period has expired. But if the opposite is the case, you will not be required to pay a dime. Also, if Microsoft would fix your console for you; you would have to wait for about five or six weeks before you get it back.

The guide would take you through all the way out from the beginning to the end of the process with your home tools around and your console would be fixed within one hour.
