Can I use a nintendo wii without a sensor bar stand?
What do I do if I have a wii with no sensor bar stand?
The sensor bar lets the Wii Remote know where your TV is so that you can use it's cursor feature. The Wii will work without it, but some games and the system menu become impossible to use.
If you don't have a sensor bar then instead you can put two candles on top of your TV (put them about a foot apart, each 6 inches from the center of the TV) then light them when you want to play. Fire emits infrared light so the remote will see them and think they are the sensor bar.
Of course, the best thing to do is simply buy a sensor bar, but the candle trick is a good alternative while you wait for it to arrive in the mail.
