How do I land my ship on Bryyo in Metroid Prime 3?

I'm playing Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, and I'm on the planet Bryyo. I'm at the point where I need to dock my ship and upgrade it, trouble is I can't. I've done everything I'm supposed to, but when I try to land, it says "debris must be cleared before the ship can land". I have the strategy guide, and it says nothing about this. I've scoured through the area over and over again, and can't figure it out. Please help.

Is this after you have gotten the missiles upgrade for the ship? Some areas are unavailable until you use the ship's missiles to clear debris.
This debris may also be cleared by something else in the game, such elements are used to keep the player from advancing to a place where they shouldn't be yet.

use www.gamefaqs.com for walkthroughs - don't bother with buying strategy guides. Though it seems you have already read walkthroughs. Try exploring the places you haven't explored yet and scanning things that haven't been scanned - always a way to progress through an area.

I remembered something - you need to activate a small panel that moves all of the equipment out of the way to land your ship. On the bottom floor there is a small post with some buttons on it, you can use these buttons to raise and lower the equipment as well as initiate the upgrade.

As soon as you lower the equipment, I think a bunch of space pirates attack - so be ready for that too.
