When it happened, I was livid. I was way into Saints Row when it stopped dead on me and right then I saw the dreaded RROD (red rings of doom). What was going on with my favorite game system? I was quite aware that my Xbox 360 is not so reliable, but I wouldn't have ever expected that something annoying like this could happen to me.

I gave my friend a ring on his mobile phone and let him know about what had just taken place. He told me that it has been happening to so many 360 owners and that Microsoft is taking forever to fix it. The main reason that the unit might get the red rings of death is because of a key problem over heating. Microsoft doesn't even bother to help you to ship it back by sending you a container for the system. So you end up with a broken Xbox thanks to design issues and you get to pay for shipping costs.

So I searched the info that was out there and discovered these tips that may help.

1.) Make sure to position your 360 in a location with effective air flow. My 360 was located inside of an entertainment cabinet, and when I went to go check into what had took place I discovered that the area was too hot. Over-heating is the biggest problem, so try moving it someplace more air-cooled.

2.) If you do suffer from the red rings try powering down your 360 and just let it sit and cool for one hour. You should also try and unplug all of the cables and set it in an place with a lot of ventilation. Once your console has cooled down try turning it on and see if it works again. I do hope it turns on so you can get back to playing and loving your unit.
