Video Games On-line – Mmorpg’s Are Heaps Of Fun.

January 15th, 2009 No comments

MMORPG’s are a very popular style of video game entertainment. In an MMORPG, the game itself becomes a virtual world, populated with thousands of actual players playing globally.

online video game rentals

The most popular MMORPG presently is WOW. It takes place in the fantasyworld of Azeroth. Gamers can pick their type of character and their traits. They can fight battles, take up quests and develop skills that will help them to farm gold and advance. Success means you earn gold, retrieve things and get valuable experience. As you rise in level, the game gets evolutionarily more difficult. In the upper levels, enemies may take a force of up to forty players to vanquish. WOW requestsa monthly subscription to play besides purchasing the software.

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning is the next biggest MMORPG. In this massive game, you can select one of six tribes for your character. The players are a part of one of two factions. As the name implies, its war. This game also requires a monthly payment after buying the software.

Maybe you'd prefer to try a different MMORPG. Darkfall could turn out to be your ’chosen’ one. Choose to play as a dwarf, an elf, a human, or an ork. Political alliances are abundant. As an example, an elf can commute with dwarves and humans, but they are adversaries of the orks. Enter into conquests, join a tribe or hunt for treasure. It's completely up to you. There is no cost to play the beta version of Darkfall presently.

One other favorite free MMORPG is Atlantica Online. The plot line is a little different than some of the other MMORPG’s, but it keeps the popular elements of fighting and questing. Atlantis has discovered a big power, but in their greediness, have destroyed four civilizations in seeking more crystals. Gamers must save mankind from the affects of the Oriharukon (the power the Atlanteans uncovered). This passage will take you to mystical and troubling locations all over the world. Gamers will also find themselves journeying through time. Clues are scattered all over, and you must fight to be a success.

With all the fans of Middle Earth, it was destiny that Lord of the Rings became a MMORPG. Join your favorite clan, whether they be elves, humans or dwarves. You can pick to fight Sauron or fight with him in his lust to cause chaos. This is a game that has a monthly payment and software purchase.

xbox video game rentals

Certainly, this is only the start of this phenomena. MMORPGs like The Chronicals of Spellborn, Star Wars: The Old Republic and Runes of Magic and many others beckon on the internet. While WOW usually gets all the press, many others are worth taking a peek at. Maybeyou'll discover one that has the kind of looking for.

New MMOs are being introduced regularly. Even if you have a favorite, take some time periodically to check out a new MMORPG. You may discover a new one that you'll desire to add to your MMORPG favorites.

Sale Price: $14.00

Take hold of your blaster and head into the fray in Star Wars Battlefront I and II alongside an army of your choosing as you fight for your life – or take control of an elite squad in Republic Commando as you seek to destroy an evil the Republic has never known.

The short answer is; anything you can get for less than its actual worth.

One way of finding cheap goods to resell is by finding misspelt items listed by other eBayers. Suggesting this tends to get you shot down in flames by non-believers - but it does work.

For example:

Consider one of the most popular video games of the last couple of years - Grand Theft Auto San Andreas.

If, in the middle of 2005, you could've bought this game for £10, do you think you could've made money? Of course you could, people were more than willing to pay £20 or so on eBay for this game.

Figuring out that many people would spell a word like Andreas wrong, I did a little experiment.

Using an eBay arbitrage tool, such as the one found at http://www.BenCatt.com/arbitrage.php I simply entered "san andreas" into the box and clicked Generate.

I was then given a clickable link which immediately searched all of eBay for misspellings of "San Andreas".

Typically, each time I did this I would get around 20-30 results.

Next, I simply noted down the worst spelt examples and their eBay item numbers.

The most I was willing to pay for a PS2 version of the game was £11.50 in total i.e. the winning price plus the postage and packing.

So, I saved this search in the "My eBay" section of this site and every couple of days would note down new additions.

After finding the item numbers I then went to http://www.auctionsniper.com and set up automatic bidding on each item in the last 6 seconds for my maximum price.

If the postage for a PS2 version of the game was £2, my maximum bid price was set at £9.50.

The net result was that I was bidding on any misspelt San Andreas game automatically whether I was at my PC at the time or not.

Out of 45 attempts, I won 7 of the games - the cheapest at £8.50, the most expensive at £11.50.

Once I had the games "in hand", I simply listed them on eBay for a Buy It Now price of between £16.50 to £18.00 with £2 postage charge. Each game was sold within the 10 day listing time for a healthy profit.

Examples of titles of the auctions I bid on were as follows:

Grand theft auto - San Andres
PS2 GAME GTA SANANDREAS
GRAND THEFT AUTO - SAN ADREAS
PS2 Grand Theft Auto San Anderas

My own listing title was optimised to ensure I captured as many potential buyers as possible through the search facility:

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas Playstation 2 Game PS2 GTA

No keyword spamming, no ridiculous "L@@K" or "W@W", just relevant words which an interested buyer would be searching for.

Total profit from the 7 listings after all fees and costs: £29.74 (+ 7 positive feedback points)

As you may or may not know, San Andreas is now available online for £14.99 or less, brand new and so it is not a viable profitmaker anymore. The game went platinum after Christmas and so halved in price.

However, there are plenty of other games which have slightly "complicated" spelling - the titles of which many people will make mistakes in spelling.

Look at the Amazon top 25 every couple of days and note down the titles of the items at the top of the chart. You can do this with any particular niche, just browse to the sections where your interest lies and you will see the "Amazon Hot 25" list.

For example - the Hot 25 PS2 Games (with spelling mistakes found on eBay in brackets):

TimeSplitters: Future Perfect (TimeSlitters, timespitters,
Timsplitters, timespliters)
Shadow of the Colossus (COLOSSU)
The Chronicles of Narnia (Cronicles)
Star Wars Battlefront II (BATTELFRONT, BATTLEFORNT)
Gran Turismo 4 (Tursimo, TRISMO)

Others:

King Kong (King King, Kingkong)
Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories (LIBERY, LIBERT, LIBETY)
Perfect Dark Zero (prefect)

If you simply find the misspelt items, decide a maximum bid, set up your auction sniper and leave it to run, you will make money.

Of course, video games are just a simple example - your niche may be even more profitable!

Ben Catt is an active eBay buyer and seller and runs an eBay Tips and Tricks website found at http://www.BenCatt.com. He also runs a business opportunity information site - http://www.BizOppsUK.com

Star Wars Episode

how is Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi comparable to today's world?

I have a school assignment, where i have to compare the movie Star Wars Episode VI Return of the Jedi (1983), with the post 9/11 world. I was thinking Darth Vader and the "Death Star" could be al qaeda as a start. Any more suggestions?

The Jedi are the US, ridding the world of evil and always fighting?

It's a common misconception that robots should be like humans. Actually, if they did, it means compromising their potential as a computing machine capable of processing billions of instructions per second while asking fringe benefits and leave benefits from their employers.

We've seen movies portray robots of the future with terms like "humanoids" or "Cyborgs" that stand for cybernetic organisms. There's rarely much truth in them. Robots today are mostly stationary machines with tentacular armatures that perform multiple and often simultaneous tasks that churn out complete cars, trucks, appliances and motherboards and other complex electronic circuits.

But the objective remains to impart human-like quality in robots at least in the areas of stable mobility and cognitive interactivity for robotic science to consider

Human Interaction

The cognitive ability to respond and elicit response with humans is the defining trait of robotic application if it is to mimic human cognitive traits. Speech recognition, instead of command line or GUI input is a minimal requirement. Conversely, data to speech capability is a must. While robots with human-like facial and body features can make interaction with humans easy, this is not necessary.

Some strides have enabled servo-assisted mechanical eyelids, eyebrows and some semblance of lips articulating the spoken word can be programmed to show facial expressions. Artificial emotion of a limited range can also be defined like surprise, sadness, elation that mimics those exhibited by C3PO in Star Wars and Pixar's Wall-E.

Learning Abilities and Full Autonomy

There are now AI-based inference engines that can accumulate information and analyze their trends and patterns to make recommended solutions when interrogated. They are commonly used in computer and telecommunication help-desk functions. This facility can now be applied to robotic application to support full autonomy for robots to make decisions and actions within their prescribed task directive. In other words, once turned on, they can do their task with no human control unless there are override commands built into the program.

Locomotion

While not really necessary, we've all seen how the movies portray robots as mobile electro-mechanical machines that use either motorized wheels of feet-like parts to move around. There are already mobile robots in some high end hospitals that delivery medication to patients on motorized wheels, not on leg-like contraptions. Human-like feet is nice to have but robotic engineers will have to factor in balancing mechanisms which humans have in their ears so they don't fall on unstable two legs.

Perhaps tri-pod like tentacles can provide better stability in this area without having to bother with such balancing mechanics. Motorized wheels on all fours remain the most viable option.

Social Implications of Near-Human like Robots.

This subject has been excellently explored in many science fictions novels and movies. The most recent was Spielberg's A.T. or Artificial Intelligence. It basically asks how we should treat robots that behave and look like humans. Do we treat them as social being with rights to life or existence. Even the blockbuster I,Robot posits that same dilemma.

If robots start to exhibit human emotions and responses, how do we deal with them. Well, this is best left answered by moralists and technological psychologists with the end in view of protecting human life and its innate dignity more than anything. Suffice it to say that we are still quite a long way for robotic science to make robots a common street and household appliance, much less mistake them for humans. GP
