If you're looking into buying a game system, you've probably spent at least a little debating which system to go with. Picking between the three big systems is tough, since all three have a lot to offer. How do you get a final decision?

Now, let us take a closer look at each system. Every system has it's own uniqure selling points and quirks. To make a choice, it all comes down to your personal preferences.

We shall look at the Wii first. When the Wii was released, the gaming world was taken by a storm. People who aren't into gaming at all think the Wii is great. Wives, mothers, and all sorts of people are playing the Wii.

Not a surprise: the Wii is amazingly fun! The tilt and position detecting controller of the Wii offers a completely different type of game play. Quite an amazing system. However, its graphics are not up to the latest standard, so some types of games won't get the level of detail they deserve.

The PS3 laughs at these problems. The PS3 has the best hardware and the best graphics of any system currently released. Games look gorgeous on the PS3. Some of the most popular gaming series are available for it, making it an even better choice.

High end graphics are also provided by the Xbox 360. The Xbox 360 provides good performance with an ever growing library of games. It comes in several system configurations that give you different levels of functionality out of the box. Additionally, it is well supported by third parties. If it's Xbox 360 accessories you're looking for, you will not be disappointed.

To choose between all of these consoles, it's all about the games. If you're like most gamers, you'll find you prefer the game offerings on one system over another. If you like games with innovative new gameplay, get a Wii. If you like the popular Japanese game series, most of these are for the PlayStation. If you like shooters, the Xbox controller makes these a blast to play. Think about what types of games you prefer, then choose from that.

How do you earn 3 stars on Mario Kart Wii?

I'm playing through the tracks on Mario Kart Wii. Sometimes when I come first all the time and get 60 points I get one star. Sometimes, (although more rare) I get 2. I've read on the Internet you can get 3. How is this determined? We seem to have misplaced the manual so I can't look it up!

I just got three stars and I don't know what I did differently. I won every race by a large margin. Who knows matbe you just need super fast times. Oh one other thiing I have at least a gold on all races. I don't know if that make a difference.

Usual suspects such as external power supply, composite cables and SCART adapters are all present. We are even offered a pre synchronized Wii Remote and Nunchuk, with batteries. We suspect this is really a ploy to get you hooked and addicted as soon as possible, after all the only we can think off not getting addicted to the phenomenon that is Wii is by not playing it

Before going to play you games, we would recommend setting up an interconnection first. This process is usually very quick. Once the connection has been detected, its a matter of entering the correct password, and you are off.

Wireless performance, should also not disappoint, thanks to the included tow internal antennas, one mounted vertically and other horizontally, hence you will get same performance regardless of the orientation of your Wii. If you do get stuck the help manuals are clear and complete, with plenty of pictures to show you what to do.

In our opinion it is a technological marvel On first picking up the remote it feels perfectly natural, with your thumb and index finger hovering over the A button and B trigger located on the top and underside respectively. With batteries inserted the weight feels just right, providing perfect balance for careful manipulation and tilting. Much like the console as a whole the remote exudes superb build quality too, with satisfying button mechanisms and even high quality battery springs. Small details count for a lot, and these small details inspire confidence from the outset.

Moreover, one of the great strengths of the remote is how it can be held in a variety of different ways For racing games the remote can also be held horizontally; titling left and right to steer.

We think Nintendo Wii is the best console game based on shear fun. It offers aspects of gaming never before seen, such as family orientated games and fun. Coupled with healthy dose of well though out games Nintendo Wii is the best console. And set to yet again top Christmas 2009 wish list

I want to know the difference between mario party 8 for wii and the gamecube games. Because apparently the gamecube games can be played on the wii. Also if this is true, are there any problems with the difference in controls or any bugs that will lessen the game experience? thanks

Well interestingly, Mario Party 8 has its spark with simple controls, like other Mario Party games, because all you have to use is the wii remote alone! Despite the awkwardness of moving characters with D-pad, the games make it suitable for this sort of control! Also, it is very nice to be able to use the Wii Remote in a variety of ways, whether you hold it vertically for some games, or horizontally for games where you are required to move your character! It seems like a nice new idea for the series, and the games are quite entertaining too! To be honest, it is probably the most challenging Mario Party out there due to the new control scheme, but that's what makes it fun!

At just under $250, Nintendo's Wii console is by far the best value games console on the market. Not only this, it is also the most innovative gaming machine to hit the shop shelves in years.

The Wii has been on our shop shelves for over a year now. If you are not already familiar with it, it stands out from its competitors in that it allows motion sensitive gameplay with its wireless controller. That is, the controller can be swung like a racquet in a tennis game, used like a sword in a fighting game and so on.

Arguably the second most notable thing about the Wii is the price. It retails at half the price of the bottom end PlayStation 3, and is $150 dollars cheaper than the XBox 360. Both the PS3 and XBox 360 do offer better graphics and larger memories, but neither provides the Wii's unique style of gameplay.

The Wii ships with everything you need to get gaming. You get the console, a controller, the cables for hooking it up your TV, and a sports games package to get you started. However, to really get the most of your Wii you will have to spend a little more.

For example, if you are a HDTV owner you will need the Wii Component Video Cable, which retails for about $30. An extra controller (essential for two-player games) will cost about another $30, while the Wii Nunchuk Controllers sell for around the $20 dollar mark. The Nunchuk Controllers aren't essential but you do need them to get the most out of certain games.

Also, the Wii controllers, being remote, run on AA batteries and drain them notoriously quickly. So, you will also need a good set of rechargeable batteries and a recharger, or a Wii charge station - add $25.

Finally, you will probably also want some extra memory (the Wii comes with only 512MB internal memory) for some games. So, depending on your needs, you may want to budget more in the region of $400 to get the most from your Wii. So, shop around for some packages with all the components you need for the best deal.

Despite all these extra expenses, the Wii is still a great buy. Just be prepared to pay slightly more than the $250 price tag.

Siege of Avalon was released for the PC in 1998, which was a bad year to come out because if anyone can remember, that was when Baldur's Gate was taking the RPG genre by storm and D&D fans were going crazy. It didn't help that Siege of Avalon has many similarities with Baldur's Gate, with a medieval theme, 2D isometric view, and the inclusion of NPC party members; so people probably thought it was just another clone. Unfortunately for the people who passed this game up, Siege of Avalon is a completely unique role-playing experience that any fan of the genre can enjoy.

The game takes place in the fortress of Avalon and the lands surrounding it. Avalon is the last stronghold standing against a hoard of Sha'ahoul forces led by an evil warlord called Mithra. You enter the story as a commoner arriving by ship to Avalon to give your brother news of your family and help in the fight against the Sha'ahoul. The game is divided up into 6 chapters that revolve around the completion of a specific main quest; the character is allowed to explore once prohibited areas and gain access to better weapons and armor as the chapters progress.

Siege of Avalon is everything that modern day RPGs are not, and that's what makes this game great. It is medieval grit at its best and doesn't sugar coat that time period like games do now. Avalon is besieged by forces that are trying every method to infiltrate the fortress, and the game does a great job of portraying how soldiers and commoners stuck in the castle would feel at the time: bored, hungry, anxious, scared, and some even contemplating betrayal to end the war early.

One of my favorite aspects of the game is the inventory system. The player is given limited space in their backpack to sort and organize loot to maximize how much they can carry back to sell at the market. It's really fun to going into the occupied village outside Avalon, kill a bunch of enemy warriors and carry their armor and weapons back to the market, making enough gold to get a new cuirass or hauberk.

One interesting feature in Siege of Avalon that I rarely see in games is that armor can be equipped and layered on your avatar. For example, you can buy chainmail, which would go on the first layer, then you could get a hauberk, which would go on top of the chainmail, then you could equip a cuirass, which would cover some of the hauberk, and to top it all off you can equip a cloak on the outer layer of your character. So not only are you increasing defense with each layer, but it is reflected on your character and I am all for having armor and weapons show up on the avatar. The items in the game stay somewhat true to the medieval time period; discrepancies in armor defense and bonuses are based on the quality and materials of the item, you won't see any longswords+1 or Morningstar of the Giant's Fury that adds +5 strength, for example.

Being that the game was made in 1998, the graphics aren't something to rave about, but they get the job done. Small details like the suits of armor that stand by gate entrances, coat of arms that adorn the wall signifying royal families, or the bread and vegetables spread across the mess hall kitchen give the player a fairly immersive RPG experience given the age of the game. And while the sound quality is similar to that of a free ringtone, the music itself is fairly pleasant in the background and also enhances that medieval theme. The only glaring flaw in the game is the terrible level of AI. Your NPC team members shouldn't be relied on in the clutch; sometimes they may stand there without attack, or simply run away from the battle. There have been more than a few times when right after defeating the last enemy from a horde of Sha'ahoul, my character was killed by a stray lightning bolt let loose by my mage; I wish there was a way to turn friendly fire off.

Bottom line: This game is not to be missed, but given that it's over a decade old, it won't be that easy to find, last time I checked the official website doesn't even exist anymore, but that never deterred anyone who really wanted a game worth playing.
